Italy Rules Refusing To Pay a Prostitute = RAPE.

A high court judge in Italy on Wednesday ruled that by not paying a prostitute, an act of rape is committed. According to an article published by Ansa today, a conviction was upheld for the 50 year old man from Liguria named Diego S. who ran from a hotel without paying the prostitute he had been with.

This is fascinating. I think I can understand the ruling - theft is theft, no matter what the product. Thank you for posting this and for visiting my blog.

Uhm, not clear here - does that mean that prostitution is legal in this devoutly Catholic country? Otherwise, she could not provide the service legally so all she would then be doing was consenting to sex and withdrawing (if you pardon the pun) afterwards because he forgot to pay for it! Shouldn't she then be charged as well?
